On January 10th, 2010, Canada Post issued two stamps to commemorate the hosting for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games. The games were held in Vancouver February 12-28 during the same year.
The stamps feature two iconic locations in British Columbia and for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Both stamps are illustrations of photographs created by a team of designers out of Vancouver called Tandem Design.
The first stamp features a breathtaking image of Whistler Mountain with snow-capped peaks. The second stamp is an illustration of the Vancouver skyline at sunset with the lights of the city glistening on the water in the foreground. Together, the stamps symbolize the Vancouver 2010 Sea-to-Sky theme. Each stamp features both the Olympic Games and Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics logos in gold.
